I'm using a convenient little $9 APP called OFFLINE DISKS FILE SEARCHER - that's exactly what it does, and for $9, it does everything I want it to. My query: I'm trying to move the APP and the info it contains to my new system (Mac Mini, Mojave). When I copy the app, it copies only the program itself, and NOT the info. Ice Breaker is a web application designed to allow students to askreal-time, anonymous questions during class. Once started, it allows thecreation of rooms, each with its own set of keys: a privateinstructor key, and a public student key. Each key exposes adifferent view of the room; students see only a form that allows them tosubmit questions (optionally including a name), whereas instructors seea stream of incoming questions from students.
The envisioned use of this application is that one of the instructors(most likely a TA) monitors the instructor view during class, and asksany incoming questions by proxy. The hope is that this will lower thebarrier for shyer students to ask questions during class.
Ice Breaker was designed to augment, not replace, systems like Piazza. Because of this, all Ice Breakerrooms are ephemeral: if the server is restarted, all questions and roomsare erased. To minimize the overhead of using Ice Breaker, there arealso no users, no sessions, and no administration interface. Rooms arecreated by the first person to open them, and keys are given directly inthe room URLs.
Usage

Once Ice Breaker has been deployed (see below), usage isstraightforward. To create a new room, simply point your browser at
$URL/room/$ROOM/$KEY
. A student key ($SKEY
) will be automaticallygenerated from the instructor key, and will be shown in the instructorview. Student can now access the room using $URL/room/$ROOM/$SKEY
.Other instructors can join the room by using the same URL as was used tocreate the room. The rooms should also be easily accessible on mobilephones.![Icebreaker questions app for the mac Icebreaker questions app for the mac](/uploads/1/2/5/8/125870479/112753081.jpg)
Instructors can see all questions, whereas students can see none.Questions/notes posted by other instructors will be highlighted in thequestion feed, allowing basic communication between instructors. Theinstructor feed will automatically show new questions as they come in onmost modern browsers.
Note: Since Ice Breaker deployments are not stateful, a serverrestart will wipe all rooms, including their keys. To prevent studentsfrom accidentally re-creating an old room with the student key as theinstructor key when accessing an old URL, instructor keys cannot be onthe form of student keys (eight character hex strings).
Deployment
Ice Breaker is trivial to deploy:
The repository also contains all the configuration files required todeploy directly to Heroku. Simply follow the stepsfor creating a (free) Herokudyno, and then push todeploy. Ifyou already have the HerokuCLI installed, you can quickly spin up an instance using:
Beware that Heroku will put your server tosleepafter a certain amount of time if you are on the free tier service. Thisprocess effectively terminates the application and restarts it the nexttime one of its URLs are accessed, so once this happens, all room statewill be wiped.
Note: We’ll decline all APKs with ‘debug’ certificate, which are not safe. Trusted Badge Official records from APKPure and Google Play confirm that the developer used a trusted and verified digital signature. The downloadable file is original and it has not been modified in any way.
Why using SHA1 to check the identification of certificate is safe? That’s a cryptography problem. Please refer to the following authoritative information to check the reason.
How do we make sure the updated Apps are real and created by the respective developers? 1. All appforpc1.com apps are verified prior to publishing. 2. We make sure that the cryptographic signatures for new versions of all previously published apps match the original ones, which means we know if the new version APKs were signed by the real devs or someone pretending to be them. 3. For new apps that have never been published on appforpc1.com, we try to match the signatures to other existing apps by the same developer. If there’s a match, it means that the same key was used to sign a previously known legitimate app, therefore validating the new upload. If we’re unable to verify the legitimacy of a new APK, we will simply not publish it on appforpc1.com.
